The Shire Hall is a multi-functional building used for community hires such as parties, wedding receptions and fund-raising events. It is also used as an arts centre with live music, theatre, comedy and cinema.

Howden Shire Hall is a registered charity no 224206. When you use Howden Shire Hall services, you trust us with your information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it.

We collect the following types of data:

Ticketing Data:

  • When you purchase tickets, gift vouchers or any other Howden Shire Hall service through our Box Office at 11 – 13 Market Place, Howden DN14 7BJ,over the phone or via our ticketing partner, Spark.
  • Where patrons have opted to provide their details for emails, data will be shared with our third party email newsletter partner, Spark, but solely for this purpose.

Transactional (payment) Data

  • When you buy tickets online, data is shared between Spark and Worldpay in order to process the transaction
  • When tickets are purchased in person by credit or debit card, data is shared with Payzone in order to process the transaction
  • Spark act as a data processor on behalf of Howden Shire Hall.

Non-transactional/other Data

  • Where a potential customer, supplier or partner has contacted Howden Shire Hall directly by phone, email or in person but has not bought a ticket or service.

Spark, Worldpay and Howden Shire Hall have implemented appropriate measures to protect against accidental loss, destruction, damage, alteration or disclosure of data.

Children’s Data

We take the security of children’s data particularly seriously, and only collect data which is essential for the health & safety of children when attending activities specifically organised by Howden Shire Hall and where no parent is present. This data is stored securely, only accessed by essential personnel, and only retained for a relevant period. Please note that for those hirers of the hall who host children’s classes, it is their responsibility to adhere to GDPR requirements.

Record retention periods

GDPR sets out the principle that personal data shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for the purpose or purposes for which it was obtained.
